Have you heard of the Outings Project? It all started with French artist and filmmaker Julien de Casabianca who wanted to free the lesser characters from corners of museums who might not get seen by the public. In particular it was an Ingres painting of a female prisoner in the Louvre, he felt by bringing her image into the street that in a way she could be freed - and seen by hundreds and thousands of people who might not have set foot in the Louvre gallery.  The Outings Project went beyond his expectations, after posting images on social media others took up his mantle and snapped art from all over the world and pasted the printed graphics on graffitied street corners and juxtaposed them in urban spaces. I love this whole idea. Art should be for the masses not the select few. I also like that taking an element of something old and putting it in a new context it becomes transformed. I am sure the artists would not have minded the great exposure either!  ...

Today I came across the beautiful hand lettering by artist Georgia Hill . Her work embodies cool with bold graphic shapes, intricate detail and those retro curves. I love her boldness when painting murals. I always get freaked when designing big! When thinking up signage designs for our clients I would love to use giant hand lettering, I think the impact would be great. Now I just need the right project!

What beautiful seed packets! I love it when something that could be considered so through away and insignificant is given importance by the design of its packaging. I don't think I have ever thought "I would love to keep this seed packet" but these beautifully illustrated seeds by Lisa Perrin are just lovely.   The project was a collaboration from Anthropologie (love, love, love Anthropologie) and The Hudson Valley Seed Library. Perrin illustrated three seed packets of Sweet Basil, Lemon Balm, and English Thyme. Lisa Perrin works from Lake Erie, Cleveland, OH and has featured in some great American publications. Her work explores themes of humour, strange worlds, Eastern European Jewish folk tales, traditional Victorian designs, as well as nature. I like her use of colour, her artworks are bold and confident.    Found at Gems .

Introducing the intriguing fabric from Création Baumann called Eprisma . More sculpture than curtain really, these triangular sequins are semi transparent and catch the light. Made from 100% polyester the textile is available in three shades, white, bronze or black.  I favour the bronze one, especially when paired with equally angular elements of interior design. The look is one of luxury and Eprisma clearly makes a statement. I love how the fabric interacts with the light changing as the sun moves across the sky. Would you have it in your home?

Today I am loving the delectable wall coverings of Milton and King . Brisbane based brothers Richard and Bryce Capp came from a farming background but saw the potential in large digital printed graphics for walls. Starting small and with little money, big vision and a garage, they have built a rather brilliant collection of wallpapers.  From Nordic inspired patterns to whimsical motifs and Art Nouveau murals to faux wood they have it covered and the potential is pretty endless. Will Taylor at Bright Bazaar is unsurprisingly a fan, mentioning them on his blog which is where I first caught a peak.
