The Nova office pod is a wonderful concept, having recently moved to a smaller streamlined office space what you realise is the size is not so important, more how you use it. Our last office was a wooden cabin that had lovely mature trees and bird song surrounding it, now we have a bright white space with far reaching views enjoying rosey pink sunsets. What if you could choose your view, and move your high tech office to enjoy it. Nova is the concept of Cape Town's co-working space collective Work & Co. The pod can be transported pretty much anywhere around the city and is fully fitted with all you could need including a smart TV, printer, white board, coffee machine, charging station, running water and bathroom - all solar powered. Thoughtfully designed, that outside-inside office is successfully pulled off. Cape Town is a perfect location for this kind of concept, great views and great weather. Finally back into the flow of work! The new year has proved to be a busy one, all good things though so that's great. I thought I might show you our latest calendar from the Pickle Design studio. Every year as a thank you to our clients and an introduction for new ones we send out a calendar. The last few years we have settle on an A2 poster picking a different theme and unpacking it in our newsletter each month.  For 2019 we delved back into packaging's past and hand-illustrated some British cupboard classics in our own quirky style. Often I use the computer to create vector illustrations, like our Great British Trees poster and our Chairs calendar previously. This year though I picked up my pen and started scribbling.  Packaging is always a fascination for a graphic designer, and we were interested in the origins, the way they began.
