Sometimes a piece of architecture comes along and just really hits the spot. Landhaus is the best of the both worlds. This country pile was built during the Art Nouveau period but has been elegantly brought up to date by German architectural studio TKA.  The feeling of space is rather epic. Simple pieces of furniture set of the architectural features perfectly. It does feel more like a public building than a home but I think it is a space that would inspire and elevate the simplest and most mundane tasks in life!  Originally found at Eclectic Trends . 

Designers Hojin Kang and Sebastian Haus from Berlin created this great brand for Yannick Pfeiffer. A food innovator, Pfeiffer wanted to create a new kind of pancake - a combination of street food and gastronomy. He had me at pancake, I am a big fan of those floppy flavour holders.  The brand is right on trend, monochrome and abstract pattern heavy. The name of the over-arching brand is Feiner Herr, which apparently has the ideal double meaning of 'gentleman' and 'a guy who creates good tasting stuff'. Bingo, and of course a moustache had to be involved. The logo the design team came up with uses the F and the H with a little hairy character. Product designer Sebastian Scherer captured my imagination today, especially his bubble-like iridescent pendant lamps – so beautiful. After studying product design in Aachen and working as an interior designer in Berlin, Scherer set up his own studio and later founded the NEO/CRAFT label. Iris was inspired by the delicate, shifting appearance of soap bubbles, and Scherer's prototype won the Lexus Design Award Grand Prix in 2014. The idea has since developed into today's Iris Globe , made from mouth-blown crystal glass. Ultra-thin layers of metal oxides create those wonderful iridescent colours, changing as the light and viewing angle change. The orbs within orbs are mesmerising. I want to reach out and touch them, as though I could hold a little world in my hand. I love how subtle the colours are and how the glass captures, distorts and reflects the view around it.   I love it when someone makes me look at the ordinary in a different way. Lucas Zimmermann has spent over two years capturing these moments - the ordinary traffic lights around the foggy streets of Weimer, Germany became his muse - and he created some rather eerie photographs.  The stillness is captured beautifully, and the spectrum of colours. Why is it that empty streets are so unnerving! The traffic lights working for no one, the world goes on as we sleep. Found at Design Boom .
