Lost in snow Ice crystals   You would have to live in a cave to have escaped the phenomenon that is Disney's Frozen at the moment. I know giggly girls who are obsessed with the ice princess and her songs. When I woke up this morning it was an unusually cold day for normally mild but soggy Cornwall. My car had a layer of intricate frost and the mist was weaving its way between the trees highlighted by golden light beams. Pretty impressive.  Embellished spokes from Liz West Ice swirls  on glass. The famous Ice Hotel  in Sweden, built every October and is melted down by April. It has put me in the mood for icy inspiration. I am quite blessed to have had very groovy grandparents. My Nan was very glamorous always in stilettos with her auburn hair pinned just so and her waist pinched with a belt she had made. In fact she made most her clothes, and mine when I was little. My Dad's mum was more 'granny chic', she like me had a passion for print, the more the merrier! She also made her own clothes and was adept at pretty much any craft - knitting, crochet, embroidery, lace. With this wonderful heritage I have been left some great vintage pieces. Some fit me, some don't and remain in my wardrobe as inspiration - just incase I change height, shape and weight!  I confess though sometimes I struggle to weave the vintage with the every day without looking like I am playing dress-up.   I stumbled across cartographer Sohei Nishino on blog The Fox is Black , the scale of his work is overwhelming. Nishino takes thousands upon thousands of photographs of famous cities and compiles a collage to give an impression of the place. These areas are of course very densely populated and I think Nishino conveys this well. I just don't think I would be able to make sense of the reams of photographs he must take, quite a talent! Sohei Nishino is exhibiting in London at the Michael Hoppen Contemporary until January 2015. 

Geometric rug found on Pinterest Away with the Clouds Today I am thinking floor coverings. I am a pattern fan and walls and furniture are just not enough, a well placed rug can really add texture, comfort and life to an interior. These are a few I have found that I like.  Love the fresh colour combination Great hallway rug , just the most beautiful rug , a cat right at home and rugs galore in this bohemian space Sumptuous colours I love traditional methods coupled with unusual colour combinations. It might have been my trip to Morocco that has inspired this current colour craze, either way I am pondering my next purchase.
