I just love this space! So cleverly done, this little 59 meter square apartment actually feels light, spacious and interesting. The black and white colour palette helps to hold these connecting spaces together which really work rather well. A spiral staircase links a mezzanine floor and a giant skylight provides access to rooftop views.  The kitchen is well laid out and I love the piled logs and wood burner making this little loft cosy in the darker Scandinavian Winters.  The old beams add character and line to the monochrome story. The work of Fred Ingrams appeals to me, especially his landscapes. Bold graphic compositions vivid  with  colour. Ingrams emerged from London's Soho after being part of the Eighties art scene and some how ended up in the peaceful and quiet Norfolk Fens. Known for his nudes now he finds excitement in the striking expanses of arable farmland and its rich colours. The Fens are a man-made landscape that was drained in the seventeenth century, this is a part of England full of folk stories and myths.  Ingrams and his wife live there in a modern home of their creating. Laura Ingrams is an interior stylist and Fred Ingrams has another life as a successful graphic designer. His father was one half of the duo who started Private Eye.  These days Ingrams feels compelled to paint often the same view again and again. I have been collecting some really beautiful ceramics recently on Pinterest . From delicate lace-like textures to hearty hold-in-your-hand comforting mugs - ceramics has captured my heart. Here are a few of my favourites: Shannon Garson Porcelain Shannon's work  combines illustration and pattern with some really refreshing colour palettes. It never ceases to amaze me what strange wildlife we have on this planet. So much undiscovered or unnoticed. Photographer Steve Axford captures the amazing Australian fungi that exists sometimes as close as his backyard.  The colours and vibrance of these mushrooms is immense. Such stunning patterns you can't fail to inspired and impressed. Even as I was preparing last nights meal I was studying the Chestnut mushrooms as I sliced them and just thought wow. Today I came across the work of Tel Aviv artist Hagar Cygler at Jealous Curator . I love needlepoint and especially when it has a modern twist. It has always been a personal way for a woman to express herself and show her skill, but I like how modern interpretations can become more like illustration, scribblings and drawings.  Cygler has a series on families that I love. She layers photographs of the members (hers, friends, found) and traces the lines with her stitching. The result is a confusion, a muddle, a huddle or a hug - all things a family can be. But also beautiful and intertwined and connected.  Her other work consists of embroidery and photography and she also has an Etsy shop where you can purchase her pause-worthy creations.
