Air Planting

The current trend for air plants is a fascinating one. You can pretty much grow these plants anywhere, they just need a bit of structure, and if grown indoors, then the occasional spray of water. The plants draw the only moisture they need from the humidity in the air around them and would normally rely on other plants to support them.

The planters shown are by Studio Carolijn Slottje and are beautifully elegant. The roots of the plants dangle free, they remnind me of jellyfish underwater.

The designs are made in their studio in the Netherlands with fair trade partners, completely hand made and inspired by craft techniques.
