The compositions of artist Anne Ten Donkelaar

What beautiful work! With a combination of pressed real flowers and intricately cut flower pictures Anne Ten Donkelaar creates these three dimensional encased collages. The Dutch artist has such a way with composition, the delicate forms suspended on pins look fragile yet purposeful. I think one of the main reasons I admire this kind of fiddly and patient work is because I just wouldn't be able to do it.

I also love how the artist selects the colours, with compositions embracing springtime shades to the more wistful winters whites and warm blue or gold hues. What joy contained in a box!
