A Staircase to Make You Swoon

Staircases can be triumphant, wouldn't you agree? In some houses they really steal the show, like this Georgian Toronto house which has been renovated with a brazen and minimalist modern confidence. It has a sleek and considered interior that I admire perhaps more than love, but the staircase is another story. 

Photographed exquisitely by Doublespace, it falls in marvellous monotone, cascading like a ribbon. Every angle pleases. Even the stairs themselves are finished to perfection. Crisp, to a point, generous slabs of marble. 

Designed by Burdifilek and created by EeStairs, a Dutch firm, it has an Art Deco aesthetic and a lightness of touch which is praise-worthy with something so engineered.
